Thomas and the Treasure DVD

When Salty tells a story about a lost pirate treasure on the Island of Sodor, Thomas decides to find out if it's true, setting off a chain of events that showcases the competitive nature of the engines. In "Thomas and the Treasure," Thomas gets sidetracked from an important task when he becomes intrigued by the possibility of finding the treasure. This leads to him missing his scheduled pick-up and being viewed as unreliable by Sir Topham Hatt. Similar themes of rivalry and competition are explored in "Duncan's Bluff," "Skarloey the Brave," "Big Strong Henry," and "Seeing the Sights" as different engines strive to prove themselves superior, often at the expense of working together. "Thomas' Day Off" highlights Thomas' helpful nature as he assists a lazy new engine named Dennis, who eventually learns a lesson about selfishness.

The DVD also includes two sing along songs, a 9-1/2 minute "character cube" feature diving into the personalities and specifications of the Sodor engines, and DVD-ROM accessible coloring sheets. This material is suitable for children aged 3 to 7.
